Is that wrong?

I took today off, not feeling well after a week of killer head cold.
(and I know head colds)

I spent last weekend in Conakry, Guinea. Lots of traveling and new germs.

I didn't call into work, just went back to sleep.
Is that wrong?

Conakry was nice - like a French version of Accra, but with 10 times more corrupt police and military! They openly asked for bribes, but backed off when we said no.
Most of the time.

Had a fantastic, expensive, Saturday brunch at a French pâtisserie!
Took a pirogue to an island and hung out in the crazy surf.

I went with 8 people, and had a terrific time.
2 Irish teachers living in the extreme north of Ghana, 1 Scottish doctor, 1 American youth radio producer, and 4 JHR folk makes a great mix.

Also stayed overnight at a former MSF base in Kambia, home of the Scottish Doctor. Saw famous Sierra Leonean musician Bueberry lipsync his hit record at a show in town.

Fun!

Hi Kevin,

My name is Marc Davidson and I am a photographer in Canada and I am doing some research on some possible projects and I recently read your piece on the Psychiatric Hospital and was interested in maybe coming for a few weeks to do a photo essay on the hospital. Do you think this would be possible? Do you have an e-mail address where we can communicate further? I had a couple of other photo story ideas on Sierra Leone that maybe we could talk about. Thanks man and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
